Will Tlacati ask me for documents?+
No. Tlacati does not request or store documents or test results.
Who determines assessments and payments?+
The agency or clinic running the specific program. Its conditions should be explained in writing before you decide.
Do I need to have had children?+
Almost all programs require at least one previous full-term pregnancy without serious complications. Read more in requirements for becoming a surrogate.
How does compensation work?+
It is usually divided into payments at different stages, with expenses covered separately. Each program sets the amounts in writing; Tlacati does not promise them. We explain this in Compensation.
Is it legal in Mexico?+
There is no federal law; some states regulate it, and in 2026 the Supreme Court established a legal standard for Mexico City. See Legal framework.
Will the baby have my genetic material?+
In gestational surrogacy, the most commonly used form in Mexico, no: the surrogate does not provide her egg.
What happens if the transfer does not work?+
There may be more than one attempt. The contract should state how many and what is paid in each case. All frequently asked questions.
